Set in a corner building on New Orleans’ lively Magazine Street, The Kingsway is the Vilkhu family’s second collaboration with Farouki Farouki. The new design transformed a former fast-casual space into a fine dining retreat that feels both intimate and welcoming. Inspired by the Vilkhu’s first family home on Kingsway Drive, Farouki Farouki drew from cherished photographs filled with golden light, open fields, and shared meals. Natural oak, warm limewash walls, amber banquettes, and lush greenery evoke the golden hour glow of those memories while creating a modern, minimal backdrop for their food. The design balances nostalgia and contemporary simplicity, reflecting chef Ashwin’s vision for a space that feels clean, intentional, and inviting. The result is a restaurant where heritage and hospitality meet, offering guests a refined yet deeply personal dining experience.
